I have read all of the previous books in this series, and at the end of each & every one I am stunned at Jonas Saul's ability to keep his readers on the edge of their seats every time! "The Rogue" is full of twists & turns that were totally unexpected. I was hooked from the first page to the very last word. I always hate when books of this caliber come to an end, but in this case I still have several of the books in the "Sarah Roberts" series yet to read. I HIGHLY recommend Jonas Saul's work to all lovers of serious suspense, especially the "Sarah Roberts" series! And with that, I am off to start reading "Killing Sarah"!And to Jonas Saul, you are an amazingly gifted writer and I thank you for your work and the joy it brings to me as a reader! Great job & keep up the good work... please? :-)

I started reading this series when I received a deal to buy The Enigma for 99 cents. I read the reviews and realized that there were 5 books ahead of this one, so I bought the first 2. To be honest, I didn't really like the first one that much. I still had the 2nd one to read, so I started it....and was hooked! I was pleased that Sarah's hair had grown back and I liked how her character had developed. I bought books 2 and 3 - read them both in one day. By the time I got to this one, I was enjoying Sarah and her personality. This was the best book yet! There was humor and bad guys, but the good guys were great! I especially enjoyed when Sarah runs into Jonas Saul and his wife on a train. It was a really fun part! Then when Darwin tells Sarah that the name Jonas Saul sounds familiar and he has a feeling Jonas Saul was responsible for the trouble he had been into (or something like that), I laughed out loud! I recommend this book! I can't wait to read book 9!
Jonas Saul is my new favorite writer. I've only read the Sarah Roberts series so far and I'm totally sold on his writings!!! His books held my interest from beginning to end and when I finished with one, I couldn't wait to start the next one to see what happens next. If I start a new book and it doesn't hold my interest at the beginning, I'm done with it...but not the case for Jonas Saul!!! I will definitely continue to buy his books in the future and I highly recommend him ...especially the Sarah Roberts series...which are the only ones I have read so far...I have read all 9 and have already pre-purchased the one coming out later this month!!!
Sarah is sent to Italy not knowing what she facing. It's been a long time since her last visit. This trip is setup and is supposed to be top secret,not even on the FBI's radar. No one except Parkma n and Aaron know. There is a lot going on concerning a convention about GMO's. Sarah is missing, no one knows where she is and if she is alive or dead.
It's been well over two months since everyone has returned home and there has been no communication from Sarah.
Another HIT from Jonas Saul in his Sarah Roberts Series!
Once again, the book takes off from the get-go, and the action doesn't lull until...well, it doesn't stop!
There were a couple of neat aspects to this installment - we meet an old friend, and are surprised by another meet up.
Even though this is the 8th book, Mr. Saul keeps it fresh.
I encourage you to pick this up if you've been following the series all along. If you haven't been, then go and grab book 1 and catch up with the rest of us!
I am looking forward to the next installment, Killing Sarah, due out (fingers crossed) early 2014.

In The Rogue Sarah finds herself truly having to go Rogue in Italy. She finds herself all alone after her FBI partner is killed, her boyfriend is jailed in Canada and she can do nothing to help, no one is who they are supposed to be or who she thinks they are -- she's the object of an assassin and being hunted as a murderer all at the same time. Each book in this series just gets better and better. Loved the twist of Sarah running into Jonas & his wife on the train & meeting Darwin and his wife, it was really well written and fit in great with the plot. I urge everyone to read to the very end and educate yourself a little on GMO's. It's nice to get the benefit of relaxing with a great book and still get a little education about something that is important.
The first Jonas Saul book I read was The Vigilante, with Sarah Roberts. At first I was confused and could not get a good grasp on her character..Then I realized I had started in the middle of a series of Sarah Roberts books. Once I found the list of her books in the correct order I was totally immersed in the series..I read all of the Sarah Roberts stories and when I finished the last one I was completely wiped out!! There is so much action, suspense and heart stopping events in these books!!! I loved them ALL!!
I then read the Mafia Trilogy!!! WOW!! Make sure you wear your seat belt! Each book of the Mafia Trilogy is a wild ride all by themselves but, put them together and you will be panting trying to catch your breath.
Give them a try but I suggest you start at the beginning of the series
For those of you who have read Jonas Saul's Sarah Roberts series, you're in for a surprise introduction in this eighth book, The Rogue (think Alfred Hitchcock and Stephen King!). Aside from that, his writing style just gets better and better. Sarah returns to Italy - a country she visited in The Crypt (book three) - at the request of a CIA agent - or is he? - to consult with him on taking down a Mafia Don, only to end up alone in the venture. Like a cat, is she on her ninth life?
Attn Writers Mr. Saul is a successful self-publisher, proving that it CAN be done if you're a good story teller with a great editor. Write on!
"I had a blast writing this novel ..." Jonas Saul. And it shows! IMO, this is his best book to date! If you aren't already a Jonas Saul Fan, I predict you will be. Read on!
